Dr. Basit Achakzai is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Fellowship trained in Vascular and Interventional Radiology who has been providing exceptional care for the last 2 years in rural Pennsylvania, at the Guthrie Medical Hospitals. Before joining Guthrie, he finished his fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, MI and finished his General Surgery Internship at University of Pennsylvania and obtained his MBBS from Baqai Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Achakzai specializes in complex adult Vascular and Interventional Radiology cases and his interest include Interventional oncology, advanced hepatobiliary procedures, and arterial and venous disease. Dr. Achakzai is one of the founding members of the society of Interventional Oncology (SIO) and an active member of Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), American College of Radiology (ACR) and Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
