RH Provider
Brendan Scully, MD
- Colorectal Surgeon
- General Surgeon
- Assistant Professor of Surgery, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
I grew up in northern New Jersey and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University and then completed premedical studies at Columbia University. I attained my medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. I completed a general surgery residency at New York Presbyterian- Columbia, during which I completed the Thomas C King Fellowship in Surgical Education at Columbia University Medical Center. I completed my subspecialty colorectal fellowship with the Salvati program and am Board Certified in colorectal and general surgery. I am a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Association for Surgical Education.
My practice addresses both benign and malignant diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. I am trained in advanced techniques to optimize patient outcomes and speed the recovery process. These techniques include robotic and laparoscopic approaches to surgery, organ preservation in rectal cancer, the use of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols and a multidisciplinary approach towards cancers of the colon, rectum and anus. I strive to provide the care I would want a family member to receive, and this includes clear communication with patients and referring providers, close follow-up and access to clinical trials where appropriate.
Dr. Scully sees patients at both Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital New Brunswick and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset locations.
