- Advanced Practice Provider
I believe that cancer care is patient-centered and individualized. Knowledge is power. As nurse practitioners, being knowledgeable and up to date on current evidence-based practices, we are better able to provide best care to the patients and help them through the trajectory of their illness.
I completed my undergraduate degrees from Essex County Community College and New Jersey City University. I then completed a Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from Saint Peter's University. I have more than 20 years of nursing experience, having practiced in various specialties such as hematology/oncology and critical care. I am also a member of the Oncology Nursing Society as well as the American Associates of Critical Care Nurses.
Over the last few years, I have primarily worked with cardiovascular patient requiring open heart surgery or heart/lung/kidney transplantation. Working with this patient population is rewarding, but I realized that oncology was my calling and decided to focus my efforts where felt most. Pursuing my passion, I joined the team at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey working in the Division of Malignant Hematology, Blood & Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. It is an honor to be working alongside such dedicated professionals, all with the goal of providing that best care to the oncology population.
Our Advanced Practice Providers work in collaboration with the physicians in their respective oncology programs and may not always be scheduled directly.
