Devika S. Lal

Dr. Devika Lal earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Temple University before completing her residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She then completed her fellowship at the New York Blood Center with specialty in Transfusion Medicine. Dr. Lal has board certifications in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. She did her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Drexel University/Hahnemann University Hospital. She completed a fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at the New York Blood Center and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Currently, her Transfusion Medicine responsibilities include oversight of RWJUH Transfusion Services, RWJUH Blood Services (apheresis and stem cell collections, as well as the blood donor program), and RWJUH hematopoietic progenitor cell (HPC) lab. Dr. Lal also participates in special chemistry signout of serum protein, urine protein, and hemoglobin electrophoresis. She also reviews donor renal biopsies for the NJ Sharing Network.
