Dr. Harpreet Kaur is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both General Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, achieving the latter in 2010. She recently joined Rutgers-NJMS as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Attending Neonatologist in the Division of Neonatology at University Hospital (The main Teaching Hospital for Rutgers-NJMS) in January 2016. Dr. Kaur earned her Medical Degree in her native country, India in 1997. She then moved to US and did her residency at State University of New York, Downstate-FHMC ( 2000 to 2003) followed by a Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center, NY(2006 to 2009). Post Fellowship training she began her career as an Attending Neonatologist at one of NJ State most busy Perinatal Center, Saint Peters University Hospital, and Drexel University. Her responsibilities there included teaching Medical Students, supervising Pediatric Residents and Fellows in Neonatal- Perinatal Medicine as well as caring for sick newborn infants in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with over 1500 admissions per annum. She was also involved in Perinatal outreach program, follow up care in the High-risk Clinic, transport of sick and complex newborn infants and providing care in a referral level II NICU.
