Cardiac Surgical Service
The Rutgers Health Cardiac Surgical Service performs adult cardiac surgery and has a commitment to personal, quality patient care. Our surgeons, physician assistants, and nurse coordinators are always available to discuss problems and procedures, and we place patient education as a top priority.
The Cardiac Surgical Service performs all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, including:
- Coronary bypass surgery with arterial conduits and valve replacement (including the Ross procedure, state-of-the-art valves, and use of stentless valves) and repair
- Insertion of pacemakers and automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillators
We also offer a cardiac transplantation and assist device program.
Physicians who serve our program are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and teach about all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, and each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
If you or a loved one is due to have cardiac surgery, the Rutgers Health Cardiac Surgical Service will ensure outstanding patient care.
