The Rutgers Health Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology program specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of cognitive, psychiatric, and behavioral syndromes associated with neurology.

Our program provides treatment for many conditions including:

• Behavioral syndromes due to focal brain lesions – lesions concentrated in one area of the brain – such as aphasia, amnesia, agnosia, and apraxia
• Dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body dementia, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and other diseases affecting the brain
• Diffuse and multifocal brain disorders affecting cognition and behavior, such as delirium and dementia
• Psychiatric behavior such as depression, mania, psychosis, anxiety, personality changes, or obsessive-compulsive disorders, that may accompany neurological conditions such as movement disorders, epilepsy, cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, or multiple sclerosis

Our program also collaborates with social workers to evaluate and facilitate social support and referrals. 

Physicians in our program are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and in teaching about all aspects of cognitive and behavioral neurology, and other neurological conditions.
