The Rutgers Health Neuro-Ophthalmology program provides diagnosis and treatment for visual disturbances resulting from brain disorders of the visual and ocular motor systems. This may include such conditions as:

• Blurred vision (due to optic nerve disorders)
• Defects in visual field (how well objects seen via side vision while eyes focus on a central point) 
• Double vision (possibly caused by stroke, brain tumor, or other causes)
• Spasms or weakness in eyelids
• Trouble moving eyes
• Unequal pupils
• Vision changes following neurological surgery or from migraines

The Rutgers Health Neuro-Ophthalmology program diagnoses and treats visual disturbances using

• Visual fields measurements that use the Goldmann perimetry test
• Botulinum toxin (Botox) treatment for cranial dystonia (a neurological disorder affecting muscles in the head, face, and neck.)
• Pupillary pharmacologic testing (testing whether pupils constrict properly)
