The Rutgers Health Peripheral Nerve Surgery Center treats the causes and effects of problems that involve the peripheral nerves. The center provides care to patients with traumatic nerve injury, primary peripheral nerve neoplasms, and secondary tumors that may affect the peripheral nerves.

The center performs leading-edge testing to measure activity in a patient’s nervous system with:

• MRI neurography
  • A measure of electrical activity in the body through direct imaging of nerves
• Electrodiagnostic studies
  • A measure of nerve responses to external electrical stimulus
• Intraoperative monitoring
  • Uses electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and evoked potentials (responses) to interpret electrical activity in parts of the nervous system
