Spine Center of New Jersey

The Rutgers Health Spine Center of New Jersey is a practice within the Rutgers Health Neurological Institute of New Jersey, in Newark. The center provides therapeutic and surgical treatment for a wide range of spinal disorders. We embrace a team approach to comprehensive, compassionate spine care. Every patient receives an evaluation by surgeons with formal training in neurological and orthopedic surgery, and from a multidisciplinary team of specialists.

Physicians with the center are on the faculty of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are involved in research and in teaching about all aspects of neurosurgery and spine care, and each brings life-changing knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.

We provide evaluation and treatment for such conditions as:

  • Degenerative spine disease
  • Infections
  • Inflammatory disorders (rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis)
  • Spinal axis tumors
  • Spinal cord tumors
  • Spinal deformities

We perform routine and complex spine surgery. However, if surgery is not necessary, we provide nonsurgical care. Our physicians work closely with highly trained nurses who receive extensive training in the care of spine conditions and spinal cord injuries.

The services we offer include:

  • Critical care
