Maternal Fetal Medicine
The Rutgers Health Maternal Fetal Medicine practice provides life-changing, high-risk pregnancy care, and performs research in the field of obstetrics. Our physicians are board-certified from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in basic obstetrics and gynecology, and have certification in maternal fetal medicine.
Our team has broad experience in all aspects of high-risk obstetrics, prenatal diagnosis, and obstetrical and gynecological sonography. We also provide care for medical complications of pregnancy including:
- Alloimmunization
- Diabetes mellitus
- Heart disease
- Hypertensive diseases
- Infectious diseases
- Thyroid disorders
The practices diagnose complications using imaging procedures including:
- Basic obstetrical and gynecological sonography
- Doppler flow studies
- Fetal biophysical profiles
- Hysterosonography
- Middle cerebral artery peak systolic flow studies
We also staff a prenatal diagnosis clinic, where physicians provide life-changing care. We treat patients with first trimester combined screening, chorionic villi sampling, specialized sonography for fetal anomalies, and genetic amniocentesis.
Physicians with the Rutgers Health Maternal Fetal Medicine practice are faculty members of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School or Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Both are part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and teach about all aspects of maternal fetal medicine, and each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
