General Pediatrics
Rutgers Health General Pediatrics seeks to ensure the health and well-being of all children. Our practice provides family-centered care and includes physicians with training and expertise in hospitalist and ambulatory care.
Hospitalist (Inpatient) Care
Rutgers Health General Pediatrics hospitalists provide care to inpatient and well-baby units. These medical professionals have a primary focus to care for patients staying in the hospital, and provide medical care for conditions ranging from general pediatric problems and newborn care to complex, multispecialty issues. Our hospitalist care coordinates with primary care pediatricians, pediatric medical specialists, and pediatric surgical specialists. Our hospitalists also coordinate the transition back to your child’s primary care doctor.
Ambulatory (Outpatient) Care
Our physicians who specialize in general pediatrics provide comprehensive, family-centered care to children from birth to age 21. We personalize that care to each child’s physical, developmental, social, and emotional needs.
Rutgers Health General Pediatrics provides well care and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses including:
- Behavioral and developmental health screening
- Physical exams
- Preventive care
- Vaccinations
- Vision and hearing screenings
We also serve patients through membership in local community groups, as well as through our Resident Education in Advocacy and Community Health (REACH) program.
Physicians who serve our practice are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are involved in research and in teaching about all aspects of pediatric medicine, and each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
