The Rutgers Health High-Risk Infant Follow-Up program emphasizes developmental assessments that provide continuity of medical and developmental services for graduates of the intensive care nursery at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. We treat infants who are at risk for conditions that may occur due to another condition or event, such as extreme prematurity, respiratory failure, and intracranial hemorrhage.

Our program consists of a multidisciplinary team of physicians, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, and psychologists. The team provides continuous evaluation, developmental assessments, and care. We also help connect infants that have medical, social, and developmental needs with appropriate community resources.

Physicians who serve our program are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and in teaching about all aspects of pediatric medicine and high-risk infant care. Each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
