Infant Apnea Program
The Rutgers Health Infant Apnea program provides evaluations and testing for infants with disorders of respiratory control. The program provides a comprehensive management plan, which often includes home cardiorespiratory monitoring and monthly follow-up visits for each patient. Our neonatal nurses and clinical specialists help with coordination of care.
Our program treats infants that have:
- Apnea or disturbances of ventilatory control
- Breathing disorders associated with feeding
- Chronic lung disease
- Obstructive sleep apnea or sleep disturbances
We also treat infants who have experienced an apparent life-threatening event (ALTE), and the siblings of infants who fell victim to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Physicians who serve our program are faculty members of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and in teaching about all aspects of pediatric medicine and high-risk infant care. Each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
If you are the parent of an infant who may have high-risk health issues, please reach out to the Rutgers Health Infant Apnea program today.
