The Rutgers Health Robert Wood Johnson Pediatric AIDS program is a regional pediatric HIV treatment center that has partial support from the New Jersey State Department of Health. The program consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, and psychologists who coordinate comprehensive case management for infants, children, and adolescent patients with HIV infections. This coordination of care extends from the home to the outpatient department to the hospital. We provide referrals to and coordinate program services with visiting nursing services, early intervention programs, and community health organizations.

Physicians who serve the program are faculty members of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America.

The program participates in pediatric AIDS clinical trials with the National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development, as well as the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Participation ensures that our patients have access to the latest investigational treatments, which helps contribute to better clinical outcomes. Additionally, our physicians teach about all aspects of pediatric medicine and AIDS treatment and bring leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
