Pediatric Endocrinology

The Rutgers Health Pediatric Endocrinology practice provides diagnosis and treatment to children and adolescents who face common and rare hormonal conditions. The practice also works with children who have conditions that may influence hormonal imbalance. These conditions include:

  • Down syndrome
  • Kallmann syndrome
  • Klinefelter syndrome
  • Metabolic conditions such as type 1 and type 2 diabetes and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
  • Obesity
  • Pubertal, thyroid, adrenal, and growth disorders and diseases of calcium metabolism, such as rickets and parathyroid disease
  • Turner syndrome

The practice is a leader in providing expert hormonal affirmation treatment to transgender children and youth.

The pediatric endocrinology practice also provides multidisciplinary support to meet the unique needs of our diabetes patients, their families, and caregivers including teachers, school nurses, and coaches. We offer individual and group diabetes education and self-management skills.

Physicians who serve our practice are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room. Our doctors are active in research and in teaching about all aspects of pediatric endocrinology, and serve as pediatric endocrine consultants for the State of New Jersey Endocrine Consultants Task Force.

If you are the parent of a child who may have a hormone condition, please make an appointment with the Rutgers Health Endocrinology practice today.
