Maternity Care
The Rutgers Health Maternity Care program sees women before and after childbirth, with a team that focuses on patients and their growing families. Our program provides a continuity of care because the same physician responsible for a patient’s primary care services also provides pre- and post-pregnancy care.
The program specializes in working with low-risk and moderate-risk patients. Our physicians and other professionals work together to provide the ideal experience for prenatal care and childbirth. We retain close, highly collaborative relationships with obstetricians/gynecologists and maternal-fetal medicine specialists to ensure that every patient receives compassionate, individual care. Meetings with each mother-to-be help us identify women who may need additional care during pregnancy and delivery; that also gives us an opportunity to work closely with specialists to provide the precise care our patients need.
Our physicians are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and in teaching about all aspects of maternity care, and each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
The maternity care program includes services that cover many stages of life, including:
- Breastfeeding support
- Circumcisions
- Labor and delivery
- Newborn
- Preconception
- Prenatal
