Rutgers Health Medical Critical Care Services provide care for critically ill patients who have complex, multisystem, life-threatening diseases. We often treat patients with complex, critical care issues who obtain referrals from primary and secondary care physicians. Many of our patients are admitted to the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, where we provide treatment.

• Acute liver and kidney failure
• Acute respiratory failure due to COPD, asthma, pneumonia, and ARDS
• Endocrine emergencies
• Hypovolemic and distributive shock

• Severe pancreatitis
• Severe sepsis
• Status epilepticus
• Strokes
