The Pulmonary Consultation Service diagnoses lung diseases with many investigative procedures. We provide imaging studies, such as chest X-ray and CT scan, for examination by our expert chest radiologists. Our highly trained pulmonary technologists, several of whom are certified respiratory therapists, also perform high-quality pulmonary function testing and cardiopulmonary exercise studies. Additionally, our board-certified pulmonologists can perform fiberoptic bronchoscopy to obtain specimens from the lung.

The Rutgers Health Pulmonary Consultation Service also provides interventional bronchology services for the diagnosis and treatment of malignant and non-malignant airway and mediastinal diseases. We also conduct therapeutic bronchoscopy to help relieve symptoms of central airway obstruction resulting from malignant or non-malignant conditions, or asthma.
