Interventional Radiology
Rutgers Health’s Interventional Radiology division is staffed by full-time board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians as well as physician assistants working at multiple practice sites. Known for our expertise in hepatobiliary interventions, including liver tumor therapy, transjugular intrahepatic porto-systemic shunts (TIPS) and treatment of vascular malformations, we provide a broad scope of interventional radiology procedures including:
- Arterio-venous malformation treatments, including percutaneous sclerotherapy and embolization
- Gastrointestinal interventions, including placement of gastrostomy/gastro-jejunostomy tubes
- Genito-urinary procedures including nephrostomy tube placements, ureteric stenting and bladder decompression
- Liver tumor loco-regional therapy
- Organ and tumor biopsies
- Orthopedic interventions including joint aspirations, injections, biopsies and ablation of osteoid osteomas
- Portal hypertension
- Prostatic artery embolization for bening prostatic hyperplasia
- Peripheral arterial vascular interventions, including angioplasty and stenting for peripheral vascular disesase
- Pre-operative embolization of hypervascular metastasis
- Prostatic artery embolization
- Recanalization of chronically occluded venous segments in IVC/SVC and central veins
- Pre-operative embolization of renal cell and angiomyolipomas
- Tumor ablation of renal cell carcinomas
- Uterine artery embolization for fibroids
- Vascular access, including mediports and permacaths
- Vertebroplasty and hyphoplasty for spinal augmentation
