Orthopaedic Sports Medicine
The Rutgers Health Orthopaedic Sports Medicine practice specializes in shoulder, elbow, knee, and sports medicine treatments that meet the specific needs of each patient. The practice emphasizes nonoperative treatments with such therapies as anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, and cortisone injections prior to exploring surgical options.
Should surgery be a patient’s best option, we specialize in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery with the aid of a camera, as well as traditional open surgery.
The conditions we treat include:
- Knee ligament injuries such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears
- Meniscal tears
- Rotator cuff tears
- Shoulder and elbow arthritis
- Shoulder and elbow injuries in pitchers and overhead athletes
- Shoulder instability
Physicians who serve our practice are on the faculty of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and teach about all aspects of orthopaedics and sports medicine. Each brings life-changing knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
