Endovascular Program
The Rutgers Health Endovascular program is a leader in the management and treatment of arterial and venous disease using endovascular procedures (in which placement of a catheter containing medications or tiny instruments goes into blood vessels). Using life-changing techniques and equipment, our surgeons offer minimally invasive treatment for patients with standard or complex conditions. This allows patients faster recovery with less pain and minimal hospital stays. Some treatments are also available on an outpatient basis.
Our program performs procedures for many basic and complex vascular issues, including:
- Aneurysms
- Arterial-venous malformations
- Deep venous thrombosis
- Dialysis access
- Peripheral aneurysms such as popliteal aneurysms
- Peripheral arterial disease
- Thoracic and abdominal aneurysms
- Venous disease and varicose veins
Endovascular Surgery
Patients who may not have been eligible for vascular procedures a short time ago can now have treatment with minimal risk, shorter hospital stays, and faster recoveries. Our life-changing endovascular surgery program performs many procedures, including:
- Angiography
- Arterial, venous, chemical, and mechanical thrombolysis
- Balloon angioplasty
- Cryoplasty
- Dialysis access revisions
- Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR)
- Endovascular stent grafts
- Endovenous ablation using the venefit procedure for varicose veins
- Laser and mechanical atherectomy
- Stenting
Physicians who serve the Rutgers Health Endovascular program are on the faculty of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and teach about all aspects of endovascular procedures and vascular medicine. Each brings leading-edge knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
