Dr. Hillen obtained her medical degree from the State University of Groningen in the Netherlands. She graduated from the Rutgers-NJMS Neurology residency, after which she completed a 2 year fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis/Neuroimmunology under the guidance of Dr. Stuart D. Cook. She worked as a private practitioner for 2 years, before returning to the Department of Neurology at NJMS. She currently is Chief of Service in Neurology at University Hospital and she is the Director of the Adult Neurology Clinic. She is the neurologist of the Samuel L. Bailey University Huntington's Disease Family Service Center and the New Jersey Medical School Sarcoidosis Center. She has received numerous teaching awards. She participates in clinical trails for patients with Multiple Sclerosis and Huntington's Disease.
