Provider Biography
Dr. Pankaj K. ("P.K.") Agarwalla graduated from Harvard College, summa cum laude, and completed his masters at Oxford University.
He returned to Harvard for medical school followed by neurosurgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. After
completing a fellowship in skull base and cerebrovascular neurosurgery with Dr. Harry van Loveren at the University of South Florida, he
joined the Rutgers academic community. Currently, he treats patients at University Hospital, St. Barnabas Medical Center, Newark Beth
Israel, St. Clares, and St. Marys hospitals.
Dr. PK Agarwalla specializes in cranial neurosurgery. He sees patients with all cranial conditions including brain tumors, metastatic
tumors, skull base lesions (meningiomas, pituitary tumors, acoustic neuromas/vestibular schwannomas, craniopharygiomas,
chordomas), and vascular lesions including aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), moyamoya disease, and carotid stenosis.
He also manages peripheral nerve sheath tumors and patients with cerebrospinal fluid disorders. Dr. Agarwalla utilizes innovative
surgical techniques including endoscope-assisted neurosurgery and cerebrovascular bypass. His research emphasis is on clinical trials in
neurosurgical oncology and functional genomics of brain tumors.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, and watching action movies.
