Dialysis Services

The Rutgers Health Dialysis Services program helps dialysis patients with acute renal failure or end-stage renal disease. The program offers vascular surgery (for kidney dialysis access), general surgery (for catheter placement), as well as other services that interact with the mechanisms of dialysis. We also provide social services and dietary support.

Our program has kidney dialysis facilities at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital that can accommodate adult and pediatric inpatients, as well as an outpatient unit. Our peritoneal dialysis facility also cares for home patients who receive treatment with Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) and Continuous Cyclic Peritoneal Dialysis (CCPD). The CCPD program is the largest in New Jersey and one of the largest in the United States.

Physicians who serve the program are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and teach about all aspects of nephrology and dialysis. Each brings life-changing knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
