The Rutgers Health Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program has national recognition for the services it provides adults and children. The center includes a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, nephrologists, nurse coordinators, social workers, pharmacists, and dietitians, plus data and financial coordinators. Our team has a dedication to comprehensive patient and family care throughout the transplant experience.

Patients in our transplant program may enroll in our living donor transplant program. The program also includes the option to enroll in a paired-exchange program for incompatible (kidney) pairs. The incompatible pairs program helps connect living organ donors with recipients and improve a recipient’s ability to accept a kidney that may have otherwise been incompatible. Such “swaps” create better matches between donors and patients and increase the chance that a donor kidney will function better and last longer.

Our program also has the unique ability to accommodate diabetic patients who are seeking a kidney/pancreas combination or pancreas-alone transplant.

Physicians who serve our program are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, a part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Our doctors are active in research and teach about all aspects of kidney and pancreas transplants, and each brings life-changing knowledge from the classroom to the exam room.
