Rashi Aggarwal, MD, is an Associate Professor and Program Director of Residency Training, and a Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Aggarwal completed her residency training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and her fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Aggarwal served as a member of the Governing Council for the IMG Section of the American Medical Association from 2013 - 2016. She is currently serving on the American Psychiatric Associations Council on Medical Education and Lifelong Learning, and on the American Psychiatric Associations Workgroup on Psychiatrist Wellbeing. She is also an Assistant Editor for Academic Psychiatry. Dr. Aggarwal is an active researcher in the fields of stigma, resident empathy and wellness, IMG education, training and acculturation and addiction disorders in consult-liaison setting and has published extensively in these fields. She is the recipient of numerous awards for teaching excellence. She has co-edited the book, "Pocket Guide to Addiction Assessment and Treatment" (2016).
