Anesthesiology and Pain Management
The Rutgers Health Anesthesiology and Pain Management program delivers patient care with a commitment to the core values of respect for individual dignity, adherence to standards of excellence, and being available to our community. We provide leading-edge, evidence-based clinical care of the highest quality to our patients.
The number of surgeries done as outpatient procedures continues to rise in the United States. That means our anesthesiologists are gaining greater responsibilities for patient care and recovery. Many are active in traditional surgical care as well as in preadmission assessment, postoperative management, acute and chronic pain control, care of critically ill patients in intensive care, and consultations for postoperative complications.
Physicians who serve the program are on the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School or Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, part of Rutgers University, one of the top research institutions in America. Many of our physicians hold certifications in pain management and critical care medicine; most are active in teaching and research and frequently publish in peer-reviewed journals. Each brings life-changing knowledge from journals and the classroom to the exam and operating room.
If you or a loved one is undergoing a surgical procedure that requires anesthesia or pain management, Rutgers Health Anesthesiology and Pain Management program will be available to provide the outstanding care and aftercare to aid successful procedures and smooth recovery.
